Every two minutes a woman dies due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Every Mother Counts is changing that by improving access to basic and lifesaving maternity care. Alena Dillon and Woodhall Press proudly donated 10% of profits of copies of My Body Is a Big fat Temple purchased on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of pub week. Please, join us in supporting this important cause. Thank you.

Woodhall Press will be "running for literacy" in this October's SoNo 5k race! We invite you to contribute to our fundraising efforts [PayPal link] [Venmo link]. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Greater Norwalk Literacy Volunteers, based within the Norwalk Public Library.  The GNLV serves hundreds of people from over thirty countries, all of whom share a common goal: to improve their English skills to better their lives and the lives of their families.  Literacy skills are key to reducing poverty, crime, poor health, and human rights abuse. Tutors and students work together for a minimum of two hours a week in small groups, offering classes in English as a Foreign Language, Basic Literacy, and Citizenship Training free of charge (regardless of immigration status). GNLV also provides supplemental learning opportunities, such as conversation groups, writing groups, and computer assisted instruction.

We proudly support Binc, the booksellers’ safety net. Binc is a nonprofit organization that coordinates charitable programs to strengthen the bookselling community. Binc's core program provides assistance to employees and shop owners who have a demonstrated financial need arising from severe hardship and/or emergency circumstances. Since its inception, the organization has provided over $9 million in financial assistance and scholarships to more than 9000+ families. Binc's mission is to strengthen the bookselling and comic retail community through charitable programs that support employees and their families. The Foundation was imagined and built by booksellers and proudly continues to be their safety net.
