Fiction or Nonfiction?

This is like asking me to choose between Strawberry Shortcake and Tuxedo Cake. I won't, and you can't make make me.

Is it harder to write funny or sad?

Neither. Much harder to write schadenfreude and spell it correctly.

Long form or short form?

For epic poems, I recommend sticking to lengthy. In haiku, go for short.

Poetry or prose?

I'll answer with a question of my own: Chocolate fountain or cheese fondue?

Boxers or kickboxers?

Ice dancers for the win because sequins.

Piece that you read and said Wish I’d thought of that?

Everything I've ever read. I want all the ideas. Please let me have them.

Cloned or frozen?

Call me when Reincarnated Vulcan is an option.

Book you read and reread?

Stopped lending out books so don't even think of asking me. Writers: Dinty Moore, Amy Hempel, Rita Ciresi, David Rakoff, Sarah Vowell

Her work has appeared in the Globe and Mail, Event Magazine, and The New Quarterly. She is a recipient of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Award and her short fiction collection, A Recipe for Disaster & Other Unlikely Tales of Love, was runner up for the Danuta Gleed Award and won the Bressani Prize. She teaches at Humber College.
